Your boat’s hull will need a quick cleaning every time it exits the water. Thankfully, this is a fairly easy process, and you can simply hose your hull down with some fresh water and be done for the day. However, if your boat’s hull begins to look visibly dirty, it’s been over 6 months, or you're planning on removing or placing your model into storage, you’ll need to give your model a deep cleaning.

Deep Cleaning Your Boat’s Hull

Start by rinsing your boat thoroughly from top to bottom with a hose before following up with a sponge and some boat soap to remove stuck-on dirt and grime. Work in sections around your boat, rinsing as you go, to avoid leaving behind a soapy residue.

Once your hull has been washed and rinsed, allow it to try completely before following up with a wax and polish. Use a soft towel to first apply the polish, once again working in sections around the hull and using clockwise motions to apply the product. Afterward, grab another soft towel and begin applying the wax, once again working in sections and applying the wax with a clockwise motion. Once the wax has dried to a hazy finish, buff it out with a buffering tool or another soft towel.
